How design and build works
With design and build, one company takes responsibility for both the design and the construction. You agree the brief and budget with us at the start; we coordinate the design, help steer the project through planning and building regulations, then build it.
It suits clients who want a single point of contact and fewer handovers between consultants and contractors, particularly on conversions and small developments where design decisions and buildability are closely linked.
Flat conversions and small developments
Our design and build work in Cardiff includes:
- A four-flat development in Cathays: every floor taken out, the rear annex demolished, new foundations, services and steels, a double-storey extension and a dormer with two bedrooms and a bathroom. See the project.
- Five apartments in Roath, near the city centre: planning approved in 2026, with the strip-out under way. See the project.
What to expect
We start with a site visit and a frank conversation about what the building can realistically become. From there we agree scope, design and budget, and keep you updated through the build with photos and site visits.
